What is the difference between Smithsonian Earth and Smithsonian Channel?

Smithsonian Channel and Smithsonian Earth are two separate and distinct services with different programming. 

Smithsonian Earth is a standalone streaming service specializing in nature and wildlife programming that’s available for anyone in the U.S. with a high-speed Internet connection and a supported device. Subscriptions to Smithsonian Earth are currently available through your iTunes®, Roku® and Amazon® account.

Supported devices include Apple TV®, iPhone®, iPad®, Roku TV®, Roku Streaming Player®, Roku Streaming Stick®, Amazon Fire TV®, Amazon Fire TV Stick®, Amazon Fire tablet, and your desktop browser through SmithsonianEarthTV.com.

Smithsonian Channel is an on-air, linear TV channel available through your television provider (find out how to watch here).
