What is 4K UHD?

4K UHD (Ultra HD) refers to videos roughly four times the resolution of Full HD. 4K UHD video delivers a premium picture quality that makes the viewing experience more detailed, vibrant, and lifelike. All Smithsonian Earth programs shot in 4K UHD are available in resolutions up to 3860x2160.
